Welcome to the SQ1 Listening Challenge Blog! We’ll be adding free practice challenges for self-studying students as often as we can.

Here’s the first challenge. We hope you enjoy it!

This challenge is called “Who Says What?”

Write the below phrases in a notebook or on a piece of paper.

Then, watch the video from 0:00 to 3:30 and match the phrase to the speaker.

In the video there are 3 speakers.

In order of appearance :

James Corden

A security guard

And Michelle Obama


Here are the phrases to write in your notebook and listen for:

ex. “Sir can I help you?” = security guard

“I think I might be in the wrong place.”

“Cut the engine off please.”

“Oh my god, I should not do touristy things.”

“Hey there, I hear you’re here for a 1:45 tour.”

“Wanna go for a spin?”

“This is crazy”

“He better be.”

“I think I know every Stevie song on the planet.”

“When was the last time you got to do this?”

“with my daughter, who learned to drive”

“and she rocked out a little, we rocked out with her.”

“This is a treat. This is very much a treat.”
